Students organize panel discussion on current topic “EU and Brexit”

Is Britain leaving the EU? What does this mean for the EU? These questions were the focus of the Business +/- Ethics Dialogue, which took place on 20.11.2019 in the Cafeteria of the IUBH Bad Honnef. The interactive panel discussion, organized jointly by the KSI Siegburg and the IUBH International University of Applied Sciences Bad Honnef in cooperation with the IHK Bonn / Rhein-Sieg and the University of Bonn, was a great success. 4 students of the 3rd semester "International Event Management" at IUBH were responsible for the planning and execution of the event.

What are the effects of the Brexit?

Since 2017, the issue of Britain's exit from the EU is being discussed. Whether the British leave the European Union with a "no deal" or an agreement is still unclear. But what are the effects of Brexit on the EU? One of the main threats would be the stagnation of the economy, with many companies and banks moving their headquarters to other European countries. In addition, other countries could follow the example and get out of the European Union. This could mean losing more economically strong countries for the EU.

Jochen Pöttgen (Head of the Regional Representation of the European Commission Bonn), Prof. dr. Christof Mandry (German theologian, ethicist and university teacher), as well as Armin Heider (Divisional Head of the IHK Bonn / Rhein-Sieg) acted as dialogue partners of the panel discussion.
