Bad Honnef/Munich, 07.05.2019. Paving the path for digital transformations in the insurance industry: starting in September 2019, the IUBH University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the German Insurance Academy (Deutsche Versicherungsakademie -DVA-) will offer a flexible MBA online degree programme in German and/or English with a focus on "Digital Insurance" in the insurance industry. With this jointly developed programme, IUBH and DVA are reacting to current demands in the insurance industry: digitalisation is changing the insurance industry from the ground up. Consequently, insurance companies urgently need professionals and leaders with the skills needed to accelerate digitalisation initiatives.
The FIBAA-accredited MBA programme at IUBH prepares students for management tasks and positions of responsibility in the field of digital structures and processes. In addition to the regular MBA courses such as Leadership, Financial Management and Change Management, the newly developed Big Data and Digital Innovation modules prepare students for managing insurance data and designing digital processes and innovative products for insurance companies. All modules can be completed online, including exams.
"Now that the part-time bachelor's degree in insurance management has established itself as a fixed feature of the industry, DVA students can now pursue a relevant master's degree anywhere in Germany. In addition to the well-known emphasis on current issues facing the insurance industry, we also wanted to provide flexible and state-of-the-art online support via digital learning formats," says Dr Philip Meyer, product specialist for study courses at the German Insurance Academy (DVA). Prof Dr Kurt Jeschke, Prorektor of corporate programmes at IUBH, emphasizes the strategic relevance of the cooperation: "Together with the DVA, IUBH can now also demonstrate its thematic leadership as a distance learning provider with a strong focus on industry 4.0, IT, data science and artificial intelligence on the insurance services market”.
Information about the MBA programme with a specialisation in digital insurance can be found on both the DVA homepage (https://www.versicherungsakademie.de/mba/) and the IUBH homepage (www.iubh-online.org/master-business-administration/). DVA customers receive a discount on tuition fees when they enrol on the DVA website.
