Master students visit WHO in Copenhagen

Within the United Nations, the World Health Organisation (WHO) deals with healthcare issues in a wide variety of contexts. The Regional Office for Europe is based in the Danish capital of Copenhagen and is one of six WHO institutions worldwide.

Fifty-three countries spanning from the Atlantic to the Pacific are coordinated from here. During a multi-day excursion, master’s students in the Health Care Management programme at IUBH University of Applied Sciences had an exclusive opportunity to learn about the internal processes and responsibilities of this renowned institution.

The IUBH students received first-hand information from senior WHO experts about planning health care systems at the national level. "It is important to us that with this excursion to Copenhagen, which has already become a regular part of the study programme, we open up opportunities for our students to do internships at this well-known international health care institution", says Dr Mümtaz Köksal, Programme Director of Health Care Management at IUBH
