IUBH alumnus Tobias Schweizer, currently Rooms Division Management Trainee at the Frankfurter Hof, gave them a great inside into the flagship hotel of Deutsche Hospitality. Its many different room categories as well as the vast meeting spaces were part of the tour. Tobias Schweizer spent a lot of time showing the group around the 303-room hotel and additionally answered many of the students’ questions, regarding Deutsche Hospitality cooperation itself, possible internships as well as management traineeships after their studies.
The 163-room luxury hotel Villa Kennedy of the Rocco Forte hotel group offered the students a different perspective on the luxury hotel sector. F&B manager Marcel Gimbel gave them a detailed insight into the restaurant and kitchen side of the hotel operation. The “Georg Speyer Suite”, the presidential suite of the Villa Kennedy - with 326m2 one of Germany’s biggest hotel suites - was one of the most impressive features of this hotel.
A big thank you to everyone who made this trip possible - Dominika Rudnick, Director Key Account Management & Consortia at Deutsche Hospitality, Tobias Schweizer, Rooms Divison Management Trainee at the Frankfurter Hof. At the Villa Kennedy Katharina Pantle, current IUBH student who completed her apprenticeship at the Villa Kennedy provided the contact of Denise Riethbaum, Personal Assistant to the General Manager, finally Marcel Gimbel, F&B Manager who gave the students the tour.
