This is how to finance your studies at the IUBH

At IUBH, we believe that everyone who is interested in undertaking one of our state accredited study programmes should have the opportunity to do so. Our new range of funding opportunities is designed to enable a lasting investment in your education and future. Make sure that you send your application to IUBH as soon as possible, as we have limited partial scholarships available!

Superior Scholarship

With this scholarship, we aim to promote high-performing students who might not have the financial resources to cover their full tuition fees.

Send us your application for the Superior Scholarship, provided by your Study Advisor and confirming that you fulfill the following conditions:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.5 (German grading scale) and an academic IELTS with an overall score of 6.0
  • Letter of Motivation
  • Study spot offer at IUBH

Candidates who do not fulfill these conditions will not be considered for the Superior Scholarship. Please discuss your eligibility for the scholarship with your Study Advisor.

Engagement Scholarship

The managers of the future need to have social and community engagement.

Whether you do voluntary work, or are invested in a sport or hobby and participate in competitions, this is the scholarship for you, provided that you fulfill the following conditions:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 (German grading scale) and an academic IELTS with an overall score of 6.0
  • Study spot offer at IUBH
  • PowerPoint presentation of max. 5 pages in which you present your social and community engagement

Candidates who do not fulfill these conditions will not be considered for the Engagement Scholarship. Please discuss your eligibility for the scholarship with your Study Advisor.

Pathway Scholarship

Moving to another country for your Bachelor's degree can be a daunting prospect.

Our Pathway Programme Scholarship is there to help take some of the weight off your shoulders.

Entrepreneur Scholarship

Ambition, initiative, entrepreneurial spirit - these are traits we value highly at IUBH. Do you have innovative business ideas? This is the scholarship for you.

Conditions:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 (German grading scale) and an academic IELTS with an overall score of 6.0
  • Study spot offer at IUBH
  • PowerPoint presentation of max. 5 pages in which you introduce yourselves and your entrepreneurship ideas

Candidates who do not fulfill these conditions will not be considered for the Entrepreneurs Scholarship. Please discuss your eligibility for the scholarship with your Study Advisor.

Women in Tech

We proudly present this scholarship to help drive representation and inclusivity in the Tech Industry.

Please make sure to apply for this scholarship if you fulfill the following conditions:

  • Minimum GPA of 2.7 (German grading scale) and an academic IELTS with an overall score of 6.0
  • Study spot offer at IUBH
  • PowerPoint presentation of max. 5 pages in which you introduce yourselves and your experiences in tech (working in a leadership position, having a leadership position during your studies, etc.)

Candidates who do not fulfill these conditions will not be considered for the Women in Tech Scholarship. Please discuss your eligibility for the scholarship with your Study Advisor.

German Scholarship / Deutschlandstipendium

The Deutschlandstipendium (German scholarship) supports talented students whose CV promises outstanding performances in their study programmes and career.

The financial support of € 300 per month is usually offered for at least two semesters up to a maximum of the standard period of study. The state covers € 150 while an IUBH partner matches that amount to pay the other half.

Requirements

  • offer of a place to study at the IUBH
  • (very) good school and study performances (demonstrated for example by average grade, certification of maths & English skills)
  • above-average interest in the selected area of study
  • identification with the IUBH University of Applied Sciences
  • willingness to support the university in various projects/tasks

The following is desired additionally:

  • social and/or volunteer commitment
  • an impeccable and dedicated demeanour


Application process

The application for a scholarship is an additional application process which you will pursue after you have successfully applied for a place to study.

  • Step 1: You submit your written application.
  • Step 2: If applicable, you will be invited to a selection interview by the study guidance office (by phone or by skype).
  • Step 3: Once all application documents have been reviewed, the best candidates will receive a confirmation that they have been awarded the Deutschlandstipendium.

By accepting the scholarship, you commit yourself to fulfilling the requirements of the university and to engage yourself as a dedicated and successful student at the IUBH. An additional scholarship interview will take place with the candidates and the Campus Management and/or the faculty. The university reserves the right to revoke scholarships which have been awarded should the above-mentioned expectations no longer be met or in case there is a risk that the degree will not be completed within the standard period of study.


Which documents need to be submitted?

  • Completed application for a scholarship
  • Certificate copies (school, if applicable vocational training, internships, etc.)
  • CV including photograph
  • Letter of motivation (approx. 1-2 pages in A4 format)
  • If applicable, letters of reference or certification of social volunteer work etc.


In which language do I need to apply?

If German is your mother tongue, you can complete your entire application in German. The selection interviews can take place either in German or in English.

Scholarships from Foundations and Public Institutions

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research provides an interactive platform called Studienlotse which is intended to help find a suitable scholarship. The extensive scholarship database can be searched using various criteria such as study phase, study programme or region of preference to filter the results.

The Aufstiegsstipendium supports successful trainees who have at least two years of work experience with up to 670 euros per month while pursuing their first academic study programme. The ‘SBB – Stiftung Begabtenförderung berufliche Bildung’ conducts the selection process and supports you throughout your studies.
